Here are pictures of three of my grankids visiting Santa Claus – no tears this year! Haven’t received pictures from Seattle yet because they have been pretty much snowed in since last Thursday.
On Sunday Alex and I made Christmas cookies. It wasn’t until I downloaded my pictures that I realized that Alex didn’t have a shirt on. Well, it was 76 degrees here on Sunday and he is definitely a warm natured boy – so no warm wool sweaters with pictures of Santa and reindeer for him. He especially liked making the frosting. The cookies I used were from the refrigerator section at the grocery store. They come already cut out and ready to bake and decorate.
Our weather here has been crazy! After a very warm Sunday it never got above freezing yesterday and doesn’t look so good for today either. Certainly feels more like Christmas though.

The color in our garden this year is spectacular – will be in full color for just a few more days but I always am amazed at the depth and breadth of the red hues. As they say in the wine business 2008 was a good year!
I worked on this sweater for almost two years – had a few times I had to frog – lots…but I am happy with it. It is a handpainted yarn called Malabrigo – wondefully soft and warm. I have a ton ofit left over – 600+yards so am going to make a nice warm scarf to go with it and maybe a hat of some type. We really need warm today – having one of our “blue northers” blowing in. Yesterday was a balmy 70 degrees. As my grandson would say it is Brrrr cold today!
Have neglected this blog since March – think about writing on it but other “busyness” got in the way. So going to try again. I can’t remember how to get a picture on here but will focus on that a little later. Darwin just came out and needs his breakfast immediately! More later……
